Skin Biopsy

Skin biopsies are used to rule out or diagnose possible skin disorders or diseases. Commonly used are shave, punch, or excisional biopsies. Generally, skin biopsies are required when an area of skin has changed color, shape, or hasn’t healed following an injury. Early diagnosis is critical for many skin disorders, among them psoriasis, skin cancer, and bacterial or fungal infections.
