Acne Treatments

Acne occurs when the oil glands are overly active, resulting in pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads. In the deeper dermis, it takes the form of cysts.

Acne treatment varies, depending on the location and severity of acne. Effective treatments include chemical peels, photodynamic therapies, and topical and oral medicines.  A range of chemical peels are available to exfoliate the skin, reduce clogging of the pores, and lessen hyper-pigmentation.

Photodynamic therapy, in combination with Levulan, is also quite effective. Acne scarring can also be greatly improved with 1 to 3 treatments of the encore fractionated co2 laser.
